PRACHATICE - Kolo pro život

The Kolo pro život series race was held in Prachatice for the first time, and unusually on a Sunday. Our team took advantage of traveling in RVs and arrived in full force as early as Friday evening. We spent Saturday on a "training" tour of the course and a relaxing evening visit to the beautiful center of Prachatice. And that turned out to be an advantage during Sunday's race.

As is traditional, the "B" group started first, along with our long-distance favorite, Pavel Šorf. Pavel stayed with the leading group at the end of the long climb up to the lookout tower and used his knowledge of the course as he approached the trail section, where he made a quick move, entered the trail first, and—because Pavel really knows his technique—his rivals were nowhere to be seen by the time he exited. During the race, the leading group came together again, but Pavel rode into the square in Prachatice to claim victory in his category and a fantastic second place overall!

At the start of Route C, we had a large group and ambitions for podium finishes. Jakub Šorf, our youngest team member—who is incredibly fast—was the first to climb to the lookout tower. Kuba also has good technique; after all, he used to race XC… He rode into Prachatice to claim fourth place in his category and 26th overall! Martin "Kawas" Kavalír finished just behind him in 5th place in his category and 30th overall. Klára Tomsová thrived on the tough course; long climbs and technical descents suit her well. She crossed the finish line in second place in her category and solidified her position in the overall series standings. Naďa Kavalírová may have been a little nervous about the descents, but she rode the course the day before and simply isn't afraid of it—an awesome 8th place! And David Koželuh finished in a solid 24th place.

50 - Podralsko - We mustn't forget "Vargiče" either; Daniel Varga raced in Osečná, where he took 15th place.

Another weekend, more podium finishes—gold and silver—but above all, a great atmosphere and lots of fun. Simply an amazing team....
